Based on the title of this story I may have been able to reel a few more guys to read. I hope so because honestly guys we need a little more faith. I say this only because I know where I fall and because I’ve fallen many times I am able to see my weaknesses in others.

Fantasy Football is around the corner. There are many guys that while reading this may be researching and planning their strategies on a game that will consume their free time and if I’m not mistaken also their hours that they should be working. Yes, I speak from experience. I too will be drafting my own team in 2 weeks with my buddies from high school.

Fantasy Football is our yearly tradition. It is something that we look forward to. It is what brings us together on a weekly basis via email or face to face time. It gives us guys something to talk about.

Now I pose this question. Why is there so much hype over Fantasy Football but not the church? Why?

The reason why is because there are not enough men hyped up about church. How many guys do you know that can’t wait for Sunday not because of football but because it is the day that we have open to worship the God that gives us breath of life?

A man can talk for days about their draft, their wins and their losses but they probably forget the church message right after it is spoken. Again I speak from experience.

I have gone to church my whole life. Most of the time against my own will. Most of the time I used to think it was a waste of time because I never understood the message or I was too distracted watching football on my phone to have even heard it.

I didn’t like church before and there are many that feel that way today because there is a lack of desire amongst men for the church. The desire is not there because there is not enough men talking about it and if this continues your kids will have no desire for church either.

Men, why do I say we need faith more? Because we are called to lead and to fight. If we don’t, no one else will. We need to fight for our marriages, our kids and our neighbors.

I want to share with you this alarming statistic to show you why we need to lead and fight. In a study done in England it revealed that “if a father does not go to church, no matter how faithful his wife’s devotions, only one child in 50 will become a regular worshipper. If a father does go regularly, regardless of the practice of the mother, between two-thirds and three-quarters of their children will become churchgoers (regular and irregular).”

Men, I challenge you to lead your families to church on Sundays, lead them in prayers and teach them about the Great and Almighty Father that sacrificed His only Son for us. We need to worship the Father that gives us breath of life and gives us the ability to enjoy Fantasy Football.

William Wallace from Braveheart said, “Everyman dies, but not everyman truly lives… They may take our land, but they will never take our freedom.” Men the moment we start fighting is the moment we will have the freedoms that is offered in the best selling book and most frequently stolen book of all time, The Holy Bible.

I WANT TO KNOW. WILL YOU FIGHT WITH ME?

Today I want to share with you the power of “Get to!” One morning in my wife’s hast to leave for work she blurted out in a somber tone, “I have to go to work.” I felt so sorry for her because she sounded so deflated. I stopped her as she rushed out the door and asked if she would change just one phrase in her vocabulary.

I asked her to use the phrase “Get to!” instead of “Have to.” Instead of saying, “I have to go to work” say, “I Get to go to work!”

She wasn’t buying it. So I hugged her tight and said, “What sounds better?” “I have to love my wife” or “I Get to love my wife!” “I have to kiss my wife” or “I Get to kiss my wife!” All of a sudden her eyes brightened and tension seemed to melt away.

You see we all have the opportunity to look at every situation positively or negatively. It all begins with the words we speak. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21)
